Field Coordinator
 Aparna K, is an MA, Sociology graduate with over four years of experience in the development sector. Organisations like Samuha and Hengasara Hakkina Sangha in Karnataka, and Timbaktu Collective in Andhra Pradesh have contributed to Aparna’s experience.
As a trainer, Aparna has handled diverse issues like dowry, sexual harassment, domestic violence, sexuality, gender and equity, police, Mutually Aided Cooperative Thrift Societies (MACTS), Panchayat Raj etc. Working as a trainer along with an associate for a UNICEF implemented ‘Community Monitoring Programme’, she has both given training and prepared training modules on active community monitoring of ICDS, Schools and Primary Health centres. She has also been involved in documentation and data analysis of the projects that she has worked on. At Samuha, Aparna worked as Coordinator for Adolescent Research Programme in collaboration with University of California, San Francisco. The team aided in testing the hypothesis “Economic independence gives adolescents more control over their bodies”.
In her student days, Aparna was an active member of an organization called Jana mana that used theatre as a medium to bring about awareness on social issues. Besides participating in various theatre festivals and symposiums she has acted in various street plays and stage productions.
