Office Administrator cum SecretaryLocation: Bangalore, India Job Profile: IT for Change is looking for a skilled, committed and dynamic professional to join our team for the position of Office Administrator cum Secretary. The job involves providing complete allround administrative support to all the departments along with providing secretarial assistance to the Directors, thereby strengthening the existing systems and enabling the organisation in its internal and external processes to function on par with other international nonprofits. Key Responsibilities: • Answer incoming telephone calls, directing calls to related telephone extensions numbers. • Take messages of incoming calls and pass on to related staff of each department. • Maintain the office telephone extension list. • Make travel arrangements for Office staff. • Raise Purchase Requisitions for Bangalore Office needed purchases. • Update staff annual leave records for leave taken. • Supervise the support staff in the organisation. • Interact with external agencies and support services, ensure compliance with internal and external requirements relating to office administration. • Provide administrative support to workshops and seminars. • Assist each department head on major meetings arrangements or external training course. • Duties are not limited to the above. The office administrator cum secretary shall be given added duties that would be deemed reasonable.

Job requirement ITfC is looking for teachers of Science and Mathematics to work on multiple projects to develop and train government school teachers in Karnataka in the use of ICTs and computer aided education tools. We are looking for people with a deep understanding of education perspectives and science or mathematics subject specialty. Candidates with 2 to 5 years of experience in education will be preferred. However, exceptionally talented fresh graduates could be considered. Knowledge of Kannada is essential for this position. Candidates must demonstrate interest in exploring ICTs for building networks and learning platforms. However there is no requirement of any special ICT/ computer related competencies.
Key responsibilities Explore use of specific educational software tools to develop and train government school teachers and educators; Participate in the conceptualization and design of the program; Take responsibility for program implementation; covering workshops, school interactions, and facilitating email and virtual interactions; Building linkages with existing networks , and with others working in the area of teacher education.
The place of work will be Bangalore, for a period of two year, which could be extended. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and would not be a constraint for the right candidate.

Job Profile: The Communication and Publications Associate and Assistant will be responsible for designing and implementing ITfC's communication and publications strategy. They will be expected to provide support to the research, advocacy and field teams in developing appropriate publication and dissemination materials addressing diverse audiences and to communicate with the constituencies critical to our work, assuming the following roles: Content management: Support the research team in writing, editing, designing and publishing for blogs, websites, periodic bulletins, reports, brochures and other publications.
Strategic Communications: Reaching out to and networking with institutions (such as NGOs and government departments) and press at global and local levels.
Programmatic Management: Taking on related programmatic tasks and responsibilities, establishing internal procedures and protocols to meet deadlines and assure an effective information flow as part of the organisation's routine and on special events such as workshops, visits and trainings.
Web and Social Media management: Optimising ITfC's online presence, overseeing websites and social media design and managing the content. Experience in web writing and online communities animation is desirable
Who we are looking for: The candidate for the Communication and Publication Associate position should be a post-graduate with 2-5 years of experience in communication and publication activities for the development sector. Candidates with training and experience in copy editing and in working with designers are preferred. The candidate for the Communication and Publications Assistant position should be a graduate with interest in communication and publication activities for the development sector.
Oral and written skills in one or more Indian languages is desirable.
While some acquaintance with ICTs for development and information society issues is preferable, it is not absolutely necessary for candidates with a background in communication for not-for profit organisations, and a keen interest in building expertise in new areas. Demonstrated experience in communicating complex issues in a cogent manner to diverse constituencies is a must.
Decisions about suitability for the positions and about remuneration depend on appropriate experience and skills. Excellent writing skills and the ability for collaborative team work are prerequisites.

Researcher - Gender Location: Bangalore, India Job Profile: IT for Change is looking for young feminist thinker-activists to join our research and advocacy team. We are in the process of building our strategic directions for the next 3 years in the area of gender, development and technology, and would like to expand our team to include young feminist researchers who have the skill to combine research, project management and advocacy. The field of gender and information society studies is evolving rapidly and impacting the development arena and women's rights and citizenship in various ways. The position offers an opportunity to be associated with an emerging field that has much potential for leadership and innovative work. The role involves working with the Director from concept design to coordination and execution of research projects and advocacy activities. Areas of work include e-governance and women's citizenship; new media and local transformation; women's movements and techno-social architectures; knowledge and technology politics; public health and new technologies. The roles involves working with and reporting to the Centre Coordinator of CCID and Directors of IT for Change. The candidate should have a good experience of project reporting procedures, participatory rural appraisal and planning, project design and action research. A basic knowledge regarding computers and the Internet etc. is important, but there is no requirement for any specific expertise or advanced knowledge in this area. It is important to understand that the principal role is of a development professional and not of a technologist. However an openness to understand and eagerness to experiment with community based new development options using new technologies is required. Who we are looking for: The Project Coordinator should have excellent community skills, with a good grounding in participatory community development. S/he should be able to earn the trust and support of the community for implementing various innovations at the community level. Technical Associate - FOSSLocation: *Bangalore, India Job Profile: IT for Change is looking for a Technical Associate (FOSS) who has experience in providing basic technical support. The role involves basic user support for GNU/Linux systems and training users on GNU/Linux and Open Office. The position requires good communication skills and fluency in English and Kannada. Experience in working on GNU/Linux is not required but is preferable. There will be occasional travel within Karnataka. Who we are looking for Candidates in the age-group 20-35. Minimum educational qualification is a graduation with computer knowledge. The candidate should have enthusiasm to explore and learn about new technologies and free software applications.While remuneration is not a constraint, it will be commensurate with experience. Decisions about suitability for the positions depend on appropriate experience and skills. The ability for collaborative team work is a prerequisite.
