Shobhit, Lead - Research & Policy Engagement, facilitated the 2nd Regional Networking Visit for Platform Workers in Asia, held at the Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium, Bangkok, Thailand, on 23 July 2026. Organised by the Just Economy and Labor Institute (JELI) and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Thailand.

The dialogue focused on building regional solidarity among platform workers and allied civil society in South Asia and South East Asia to address common challenges such as worker misclassification, social protection, algorithmic management, and worker data rights. It included a visit to the Parliament House of Thailand, where participants shared emerging best practices on platform work legislation with the Parliamentary Committee on Labour.

Shobhit's intervention drew on research driven insights from India on algorithmic management in platform work, analysing the gaps in ILO Convention 193 as it applies to algorithmic management. He also facilitated a session on the gendered dimensions of platform work and the role of platform design in shaping workers' experiences and vulnerabilities.

The engagement fulfilled the project's capacity building mandate, deepened understanding of its research questions, generated new connections and networks, and strengthened advocacy for improved policy and practice.
