We're co-organizing a Day '0' pre-event for IGF 2023 in Kyoto titled "A Global Compact for Digital Justice: Southern Perspectives," in collaboration with the Global Digital Justice Forum, Dynamic Coalition on Platform Responsibility, and Dynamic Coalition on Internet Rights and Principles. Slated for Sunday, 8 October 2023, from 16:00-19:00 Kyoto Time (JST) / 07:00 to 10:00 UTC at WS 9 – Room C-2, this dialogue, moderated by our Executive Director, Anita Gurumuthy, will delve into how we can create a Global Digital Compact that champions digital justice, especially in the majority world.
Using the "BUILD IT, BREAK IT, FIX IT" format, we'll examine the GDC's promise to remedy global governance gaps in digital cooperation, critically evaluate its proposals, and gather insights for a future-oriented GDC roadmap.
