Anita Gurumurthy was invited to speak at a policy dialogue on ‘Examining Platform, Data and AI Infrastructures’. The event was organized by the Ashank Desai Centre for Policy Studies, IIT Bombay on the 23rd of March, 2022.
Anita was part of a panel discussion on ‘Data, Platforms and AI: A Troubled Legacy’. Her co-panelists included: Anupam Guha (Assistant Professor, Ashank Desai Centre for Policy Studies, IIT Bombay) and Mishi Choudhary (Legal Director at the Software Freedom Law Centre, NY, USA). The discussion was moderated by Dr. Sundeep Oberoi, Adjunct Faculty, Ashank Desai Centre for Policy Studies. The discussion explored privacy and data sharing in the platform economy, the presence/absence of policy processes for the vast pool of private data shared on platforms, etc.
